‘Miami Miracle’ on Tecmo Bowl? Oh, my goodness, yes!
Arguably the best thing on Twitter on Monday relating to the crazy NFL Sunday comes from the account @Benstonium.
Anyone who grew up with a Nintendo game console can really appreciate the Tecmo Bowl recreation of the “Miami Miracle” that Benstonium put together in the aftermath of the Miami Dolphins’ two-lateral walk-off touchdown to beat the New England Patriots.

On Sunday, the Dolphins trailed the Patriots 33-27 with seven seconds remaining and had to go 69 yards for a touchdown. They ran the hook-and-lateral play.
Dolphins quarterback Ryan Tannehill threw to wideout Kenny Stills and pitched the ball to DeVante Parker. Parker’s job was to find running back Kenyan Drake with a lateral. It was up to Drake to either weave his way to the end zone or find other player for a lateral.
He weaved 52 yards after the lateral for the TD, scooting past a diving Gronkowski to get into the end zone with the clock showing all zeroes. The extra point gave the Dolphins a stunning 34-33 win.
Tecmo Bowl, for those who weren’t born yet, debuted on Nintendo in 1989 and featured real names of NFL players. Bo Jackson still stands as the most indestructible force in video-game history.
Any video game.
