Report: Dallas Mavericks unhappy with Luka Doncic Overwatch billboard near arena

Los Angeles Lakers star Luka Doncic recently teamed up with popular video game company Blizzard to promote the game Overwatch 2.

As part of their partnership, a billboard was created with Doncic’s face cut down the middle with Cassidy, a character in the game.

According to the Sporting Tribune’s Arash Markazi, the Dallas Mavericks were not happy with how close the billboard was to American Airlines Center and forced the billboard to be moved farther away.

Doncic was traded from the Mavs in February, which sent shock waves through the NBA world and the Dallas basketball community, with incensed fans leading protests of general manager Nico Harrison inside and outside the arena for weeks.

After the trade, comments from Harrison and team governor Patrick Dumont seemingly only further inflamed fans, many of whom continue to support the firing of the executive and lament the loss of the Slovenian superstar.

Even with the Mavs winning the NBA draft lottery and selecting Cooper Flagg with the No. 1 pick, fans’ anger over the trade has still not fully subsided.
