Cuban not buying Jordan’s apology
There was something strange about DeAndre Jordan’s public apology on Twitter to Mark Cuban that rubbed the Dallas Mavericks’ owner the wrong way.
More or less, from Cuban’s eyes, the apology seemed to pour more gasoline on a blazing fire.
“When is an apology not an apology?’’ Cuban wrote Saturday on Cyber Dust. “When you didn’t write it yourself. Next.”
On Friday, Jordan – or someone else – used Jordan’s Twitter account to send a pair of tweets that basically apologized for Jordan telling the Mavs he was going to sign a free agent contract with the Mavs but changed his mind five days later and signed with the Los Angeles Clippers.
The first tweet said: “I want to publicly apologize to one of the best owners in the world @MCuban, the @DallasMavs and their fans.’’
The second tweet said: “I am humbled by @DallasMavs & @MCuban kindness and understanding. I am sorry to have a change of heart.’’
Cuban obviously didn’t think the tweets were written by Jordan.
