Watch Dirk’s emotional arrival for final game in Dallas

The goodbye is officially on.

Dirk Nowitzki arrived at American Airlines Center just after 5 p.m. for what is expected to be his final home game in Dallas. The Dallas Mavericks legend is likely to retire after this season, which concludes in San Antonio Wednesday night.

Nowitzki was met by hundreds of AAC employees as he arrived on Tuesday. He walked through the parking garage tunnel into the arena high-fiving staff who were all wearing Dirk tribute T-shirts with 41.21.1 on the front, which stands for Nowitzki’s jersey number, his 21 years with Dallas (an NBA record) and 1 for one team.

Tuesday’s home finale against the Phoenix Suns is going to be an emotional night for the 20,000 fans in attendance as they pay tribute to No. 41 one final time.
