Trae Young took a big dig at Luka Doncic in interview. Here’s what he said
There’s a bunch of drama related to the Dallas Mavericks that is apparently getting aired out this week.
On Tuesday, an ESPN report stated that several players were unhappy with center Deandre Jordan for his ‘selfish’ play. Dennis Smith Jr. decided to respond to that report on Instagram.
Mark Cuban will also make a radio appearance to discuss the culture of sexual harassment in the team’s business office and the investigation that ensued.
On Wednesday, Atlanta Hawks rookie Trae Young took a bit of a shot at Mavericks rookie Luka Doncic when he said this.
“The thing with Luka, he’s a great player,” Young told Sports Illustrated. “I don’t understand why it can’t work out for both situations. I hear [Atlanta made a mistake] all the time. Luka’s a great dude, and I think he’s going to be a really good player. But at the same time, I’m going to be a better player. Just because of my ability to stretch the floor, get others involved, I think I’ll be better.”
Technically, the Hawks drafted Doncic with the third pick of the 2018 NBA draft. A few minutes later, the Mavericks selected Young out of Oklahoma with the No. 5 pick.
However, Atlanta traded Doncic’s draft rights to Dallas in exchange for the rights to Young and a 2019 first-round pick (top 10 protected).
