st inning: Delino DeShields led off with a double off the wall in left and moved to third on Shin-Soo Choo’s groundout to second. DeShields scored on Prince Fielder’s soft tapper to first. Chris Colabello threw home, but DeShields’ head-first slide was just under the tag to give Texas a 1-0 lead. Cole Hamels retired the side in order, striking out Josh Donaldson for the second out. Rangers 1, Blue Jays 0

nd inning: Josh Hamilton walked to lead off but was forced out on Elvis Andrus bunted into a fielder’s choice. Rougned Odor followed with a sharp single to right. Marcus Stroman struck out Chris Gimenez. With DeShields in a 1-2 count, Andrus was caught trying to steal third to end the inning. Edwin Encarnacion led off with a five-pitch walk and Colabello followed with a single to center. Hamels caught Troy Tulowitzki looking on a 3-2 pitch at the knees for the first out. Russell Martin flew out to right to put runners on the corners with two outs for Kevin Pillar. Hamels got Pillar swinging on a changeup to end the inning. Rangers 1, Blue Jays 0

rd inning: With one out, Choo homered to right-center on an 0-1 pitch. Adrian Beltre singled to right with two outs, but Mitch Moreland flew out to left to end the top half. Ben Revere reached on an infield single that hopped high off Hamels’ glove with one out and scored on Jose Bautista’s double to the left-field corner. After intentionally walking Encarnacion, Hamels got Colabello to ground out to short to end the inning. Rangers 2, Blue Jays 1

th inning: Stroman had his first 1-2-3 inning of the game, which included Pillar’s excellent diving catch in shallow center to retire Hamilton for the first out. In the bottom half, Hamels retired the side in order, including a swinging strikeout of Pillar to end the inning. Rangers 2, Blue Jays 1

th inning: Gimenez led off with an infield single but was forced out at second on DeShields’ grounder to third. Stroman struck out Choo and Fielder swinging to end the threat. Hamels recorded his second consecutive 1-2-3 inning. Beltre, bad back and all, charged Revere’s bunt and made the barehanded pickup and throw for the second out. Rangers 2, Blue Jays 1

th inning: Hamilton doubled off the left-field wall with two outs, but Andrus’ sharp grounder up the middle was stopped by Ryan Goins to end the top half. After Bautista fouled out, Encarnacion turned on the first pitch he saw for a no-doubt homer to left to tie the game. Hamels came back to strike out Colabello and Tulowitzki. Rangers 2, Blue Jays 2

th inning: Aaron Sanchez took over for Stroman to start the seventh against the bottom of the Texas’ lineup. Rougned Odor led off with a single and moved to second on Gimenez’s sacrifice bunt. With two outs and Choo at the plate, catcher Russell Martin’s throw back to Sanchez deflected off Choo’s hand on his bat and bounced up the third-base line. An alert Odor raced home from third to score. At first, the play was ruled a dead ball. But after Rangers manager Jeff Banister conferred with home plate umpire Dale Scott and Scott conferred with his crew, the run was awarded to Texas. A torrent of debris was thrown on the field from some of the angry Blue Jays fans. In the bottom half, the Rangers made three consecutive errors, including two by Andrus, to load the bases with no outs. Hamels finally got an out when Moreland threw home to get the lead runner. Sam Dyson replaced Hamels with the bases still loaded and one out. Donaldson’s short fly that drops in right ties it at 3-3. Bautista followed with a three-run homer to left that put Toronto up 6-3. Blue Jays 6, Rangers 3

th inning: With two on and one out, Roberto Osuna replaced Sanchez on the mound to face Hamilton. Hamilton struck out swinging on a full-count 97 mph fastball for the second out and Andrus struck out on a 90 mph slider to end the inning. Jake Diekman pitched the bottom half for Texas and retired the side in order. Blue Jays 6, Rangers 3

th inning: Osuna retired Odor, pinch hitter Mike Napoli and Will Venable to end the game. Blue Jays 6, Rangers 3
