Texas Rangers shortstop Corey Seager heads back to the 10-day injury list
Texas Rangers shortstop Corey Seager will head to the 10-day injured list with a right hamstring strain, the same injury that previously put him on the IL.
The move is retroactive to May 11.
Seager last played in a game on Saturday, going 2-for-3 with two home runs, in a 10-3 win over the Detroit Tigers, but has missed four of the last five games.
Seager’s last trip to the injured list was from April 23-May 3, and the shortstop played in five games before re-aggravating his hamstring.
The Rangers got some good injury news on Tuesday when they reactivated catcher Kyle Higashioka from the IL after suffering from a mild left intercostal strain and last played on April 29 against the Athletics.
Higashioka played two games on a rehab assignment with Triple-A Round Rock, where he went 2-for-8 with a run scored.
The Rangers, in the midst of a three-game winning streak, will face off with the Colorado Rockies at 7:05 p.m. on Tuesday at Globe Life Field.
