Foul language prompts Texas Rangers to pull baseball cap from online store

The Texas Rangers removed a cap from their online store because the cap’s lettering could be misinterpreted as a vulgar word in Spanish.

The hat was released as part of New Era’s Overlap 5950 collection that took the team’s logo from its cap, a a giant T, and placed it over the X in the word TEXAS, which appears on the front of the team’s jersey.

By replacing the X with T, a Spanish word was created that is considered vulgar.

According to the Dallas Morning News, the MLB declined to comment on the cap, and the Rangers were not aware of the cap design until after its release.
