What’s a Tejas Cheesesteak? New food items for MLB All-Star Week in North Texas revealed
The Texas Rangers are known for serving fans alluring food at Globe Life Field games and that will be no different for the upcoming Major League All-Star Game and Home Run Derby.
The Rangers will host the best players in baseball for the 2024 MLB All-Star Game. While Arlington may host the main festivities, several all-star week events are spread out across North Texas, including the 2024 MLB Draft in Fort Worth.
On Tuesday, the Rangers’ hospitality partner Delaware North unveiled several new food items that will be available across the myriad of events hosted at Globe Life Field for MLB All-Star Week.
The six new items will be available at both the Home Run Derby on Monday and the All-Star Game on July 16, said Casey Rapp, general manager at Deleware North.
A few items will also be available at the HBCU Swingman Classic on Friday and the Futures All-Star Game and the Celebrity Softball Game on Saturday.
Deleware North plans to bring more than 25 additional chefs to help with the MLB All-Star Week cooking. Here’s what’s new on the menu:
Tejas Cheesesteak
The Tejas Cheesesteak gives the Philadelphia favorite the Lone Star state treatment.
Thinly sliced roast beef is smothered in melted white cheese, peppers and onions on a hoagie roll.

Asian Poke Bowl
Chef Yuhi Fujinaga ,from Walt Disney World, is being brought in from Florida to help with the Asian poke bowls.
The bowls come with steamed rice, ahi tuna, cucumber, mango, edamame, ginger, avocado, green onions and wonton chips.

South Street Tacos
The tacos will be prepared by Oscar Breton Echeverria Gonzalez, owner of Tacos Vitali in San Antonio.
There’s three tacos per order with choice of shaved pork, carne asada or chicken.

Texas Steak Sandwich
A Nolan Ryan black angus ribe-eye steak is rubbed with a serrano and coffee blend before being grilled.
The grilled steak is then laid on ciabatta bread and topped with a cilantro chimichurri. This item will also be available at the HBCU Swingman Classic and Celebrity Softball Game.

Lone star frito pie dog
A foot-long hot dog is topped with chili, Fritos, queso, sour cream and jalapenos.

Three Strike BoomBox
A two-foot bed of waffle fries are topped with chili, brisket, pulled pork, pico de gallo, lettuce and jalapenos.

Local Arlington restaurants
Arlington Eats is located near section 106 and features a selection of rotating Arlington-based restaurants.
Local restaurants Shrimp Doc and Ella B’s will be serving up food for both the MLB All-Star Game and Home Run Derby. Hurtado Barbecue, which has a standalone spot at section 141, will have a second express location in the upper concourse near section 201.
Hurtado will also be serving up a new item for the festivities: a loaded cornbread.
