How much would it cost a family of four to attend every MLB All-Star Week event in DFW?
MLB All-Star festivities are around the corner. For fans, there are many events to celebrate and showcase the best players in the game past and present and spotlight players who impacted the Texas Rangers franchise.
How much will it cost for a family of four to attend every event at All-Star week?
Hope you don’t break your piggy bank:
HBCU Swingman Classic
The first event of All-Star Week, The Swingman Classic takes place on July 12 and showcases the best HBCU players (Historically Black College or University) in the country in an exhibition game coached by Ken Griffey Sr. and Lloyd McClendon.
Gospel star Kirk Franklin will sing the national anthem and the Black National Anthem before the game, and Opal Lee will take part in pregame festivities.
Tickets for the event are on sale on the MLB’s all-star website starting at $15. For a family of four, it would be $60 for the tickets plus $49.92 for four hot dogs and water for $109.92 total.
MLB Futures Game/Celebrity Softball game
The best talent in the minor leagues will take Globe Life Field by storm on Saturday, July 13, in the MLB Futures All-Star game and skills showcase. Afterwards, the celebrity softball game will take place, headlined by ex-Dallas Cowboy Terrell Owens.
Tickets start at $35 which encompasses all three events for a total of $189.92 for Saturday’s events.
Home Run Derby
The fan-favorite event is one of the week’s costliest with a plethora of fans lining up to see the game’s best home run hitters clobber as many baseballs as they can. Fans will also be able to see the 2024 MLB All-Stars workout prior to the derby.
Tickets start at $275 per person, $1,100 total plus $49.92 added on if the family is looking to eat at Globe Life Field.
All-Star Village
The All-Star Village is a multi-day event featuring notable MLB figures like Rollie Fingers, Adrian Beltre and Andre Dawson who will be signing autographs and participating in panels. There will also be VR games and other family-friendly activities.
The village is open from July 13-16 and has a family four pack which includes two adult and children’s tickets for $110. Fans could save money if they are active or former military members who get tickets for $20 or if they’re college students whose tickets start at $15.
MLB Draft
The MLB Draft will take place at the Cowtown Collesium in the Fort Worth Stockyards from July 14-16 with the best collegiate and high school players finding out where they will start their MLB journeys. Ticketing prices have not yet been announced.
All-Star Game
The All-Star game takes place on July 16 with the big league’s best players going toe to toe.
The cheapest tickets cost $300 for a total of $1,249.92 for the whole family including food.
To attend every single all-star event it would cost $2,809.68 or $800 more than the average Texas mortgage payment.
And that’s just the least expensive way of seeing everything. If you want to go the luxury route and get better tickets, attend the high-end parties and eat much better food, well, you may need to sell your house first.
