How did Corey Seager’s home run in game 3 of the World Series make history?
Texas Rangers shortstop Corey Seager’s home run in the top of the third inning of Game 3 on Monday was the hardest hit in the history of the World Series.
The homer was Seager’s second in two games against the Arizona Diamondbacks. Seager’s first home run sent game 1 into extra innings.
The home run gave the Rangers a 3-0 lead that they would never relinquish during their 3-1 victory over the Arizona Diamondbacks in game 3 of the World Series.
Seager’s home run was the hardest hit since Statcast began measurements in 2015, it also tied him with Minnesota Twin Carlos Correa for second place all-time on the MLB’s shortstop postseason home run list.
If Seager hits three more home runs this postseason he’ll pass New York Yankees legend Derek Jeter for No. 1 all-time.
The Rangers will play the Diamondbacks at 7:03 p.m. on Tuesday at Chase Field. The Rangers lead the best-of-seven series 2-1.
