‘Astros finally strike the right chord.’ Reaction to Dusty Baker hire in wake of scandal
The Houston Astros took a big step towards reshaping their image on Wednesday with the hiring of manager Dusty Baker.
Baker, who has more than 20 years of coaching experiencing, including most recently as manager of the Washington Nationals, is tasked with helping stabilize an organization rocked by a cheating scandal that led to the firing of manager A.J. Hinch and general manager Jeff Luhnow.
The reaction to the Baker news was generally positive from baseball media. Baker, 70, is viewed as a classy baseball lifer, who has been in the game as a player or coach since the mid-1960s.
