National reaction to Texas Rangers’ new powder blue uniform draws some misplaced scorn
The Texas Rangers new uniforms mostly got a respectable nod from fans in North Texas.
The Sunday alternate powder blue home jersey and pants with “Rangers” in white script on the front were especially appreciated as a nod to the club’s past. The club is referring to them as the “power blue” uniforms.
But the reaction wasn’t entirely positive from fans across the league. Many took issue with the powder blue look, calling it a ripoff of the Phillies and Royals. While we could argue the shade of blue is different, most of those fans outside of Rangers Nation probably don’t remember (or know) that Texas once wore powder blue proudly.
