Wednesday is ‘Mail call!’ at Lockheed Martin Heroes Tent
Fans attending the Dean & DeLuca Invitational on Wednesday can help assemble care packages intended for service members stationed overseas from 10:30 a.m. to noon.
It’s Lockheed Martin Care Packaging Day in the Heroes Tent at the 17th fairway of Colonial Country Club.
Volunteers will put together 500 care packages intended for active military abroad.
The packages include snacks, personal items, a letter signed by PGA Tour pros playing this week, cards and letters from kids in The First Tee of Fort Worth, and a commemorative Lockheed Martin Dean & DeLuca Invitational Challenge Coin.
Fort Worth-based Support Our Soldiers (SOS) is coordinating delivery of the care packages.
To all visitors
A reminder that the less a person brings to Colonial, the quicker they will get through the security check.
Prohibited items are: large purses or bags, audible pagers, firearms, backpacks, clipboards, cameras (not allowed Thursday-Sunday), glass containers and alcohol. These items will be confiscated. All small purses and bags will be searched.
“We will continue to be diligent with our efforts to ensure patron safety,” said Fort Worth Police Lt. Robin Krouse, who is in charge of security at Colonial.
