Dallas-Fort Worth soccer fans have the chance to watch a 2026 FIFA World Cup team prepare for the tournament.
Czechia will host a community training session at 9:30 a.m. Saturday, June 6, at the new Texas Health Mansfield Stadium. Czechia, more commonly known as the Czech Republic, is making its base camp in Mansfield for the World Cup, which runs from June 11 to July 19, including nine matches at AT&T Stadium in Arlington.
Fans can enter the lottery to win up to four free tickets for the training session now through 11:59 p.m. Sunday. Lottery winners will be notified Tuesday and will receive a window to claim the tickets. If the tickets are unclaimed, they could be redistributed.
This is a different event from the Mansfield Stadium open house earlier this week that was postponed. Tickets to that event do not apply to the training session.
“It is an honor to serve as Team Czechia’s Base Camp Training Site, and we’re thrilled to share this experience with our community,” Scott Norton, general manager of Mansfield Stadium, said in a statement. “This Community Training Session gives fans a unique opportunity to see one of the world’s top national teams train in person and be part of the excitement surrounding FIFA World Cup 2026 here in North Texas.”
Pavel Nedvěd, general manager of the Czech national team, shared in the excitement.
“After 20 years, the Czech national team is back at the FIFA World Cup,” he said in a statement. “The community training session is always a great event, and we are looking forward to meeting the people from Dallas, which will become our home for a few weeks.”
Mansfield Stadium will serve as the Czechs’ primary training and operational headquarters throughout the tournament, but this will be the public’s only opportunity to see the team before the tournament begins, officials said.
Czechia opens World Cup play against South Korea on June 11 in Guadalajara, Mexico. Though they are making their base camp in DFW, the Czechs do not have a group stage match scheduled at AT&T Stadium.
