CW33 to broadcast Dallas-Fort Worth high school football games starting in September

When the high school football season finally starts, the biggest difference will be the amount of people in the stadium. Due to the coronavirus pandemic, venues are allowed a maximum capacity of 50%.

However, the UIL has dropped the broadcasting ban and is allowing live telecasts during Friday night games.

Fans who won’t be able to attend in person will have a chance to watch their teams when the High School Football Showdown kicks off Sept. 25 on the CW33.

The CW will also broadcast playoff games. They will be hosted by broadcaster Doug Anderson, color commentator LaDarrin McLane and sideline reporter Chris Mycoskie.

Class 4A-1A programs may start games on Aug. 27 while 5A and 6A schools won’t start games until the end of September. The CW will kick off the season Sept. 25 when Dallas Jesuit visits Flower Mound Marcus.

The TV station follows with a trip to Aledo on Oct. 2 as LSU commits JoJo Earle and Bryan Allen Jr., and the 9-time UIL state champs take on state semifinalist Frisco Lone Star and quarterback Garret Rangel.
