Nolan Catholic adds two more Division I commits in starting quarterback, linebacker
Nolan Catholic quarterback Jimmy Taylor announced his commitment to Cornell on Wednesday, becoming the third rising senior for the Vikings to continue his playing career at the Division I level.
Outside linebacker/defensive end J’Dan Burnett committed to Louisana Tech on Tuesday.
Wide receiver Irene Ngabonziza committed to Villanova last week.
The 6-3 Taylor threw for 1,900 yards and 24 touchdowns last season as the Vikings went 11-1. He also had offers from Columbia, Yale, Georgetown, Johns Hopkins and Carnegie Mellon.
Burnett, a 3-star prospect, is ranked as the No. 49 outside linebacker in the country, according to 247Sports. He has 16 offers, which also included Navy, North Texas, San Diego State, Kansas and Hawaii.
Burnett was named to the Star-Telegram all-area team after recording 70 tackles and 14 1/2 sacks in 2019.
