“Dreamed about this moment my whole life.” Nolan Catholic WR commits to Villanova
Nolan Catholic rising senior wide receiver Irene Ngabonziza announced his commitment to Villanova on Thursday. He also had offers from Bryant, Holy Cross, Georgetown, Navy, Rhode Island and William & Mary.
“Dreamed about this moment my whole life,” he said in a tweet. “All my life, I have always wanted to go to a school that can provide me with a great education and allow me to play football at a high level.”
The 3-star prospect has been named TAPPS first-team all-state during the past two seasons, where the Vikings have posted a 20-3 record.
Ngabonziza, who also plays free safety, helped the Nolan Catholic to its first playoff win since 2015 when it beat Dallas Bishop Dunne in the first round last season.
Ngabonziza had seven catches for 89 yards and two touchdowns.
As a sophomore in 2018, he made 28 catches for 571 yards and seven touchdowns.
He’s the third football player from the 2021 class to commit with Villanova, which went 9-4 last season.
