Texas A&M lands verbal commitment from Denton Guyer 4-star cornerback Deuce Harmon
Denton Guyer 4-star cornerback Deuce Harmon announced his commitment to Texas A&M via Twitter on Thursday.
He has 23 offers, 18 from a Power Five School, including TCU, Texas, Baylor, USC, Notre Dame, Oregon and Oklahoma State.
Harmon is the ninth 2021 commit for the Aggies, fifth from Texas including teammate in Guyer quarterback Eli Stowers.
“First I would like to thank the man above for these great opportunities. Thank you to all the coaches and schools for believing that I could be a big piece of your program,” Harmon said in a tweet.
Harmon, who’s listed at 5-9 and 185 pounds, is ranked as the No. 16 cornerback in the country and No. 37 overall prospect in the state for the Class of 2021, according to 247Sports.
Harmon played a key part in 2019 that saw the Wildcats go 14-2 and reach the Class 6A Division II state title game against Austin Westlake.
In 16 games, Harmon made 46 tackles, picked off two passes and recorded a team-high 10 deflections. He also played on offense and special teams. He caught three touchdown passes.
The Wildcats are among the candidates to make another deep playoff run in 2020, alongside new head coach Rodney Webb, who came over from Rockwall to replace longtime Guyer coach John Walsh.
Athleticism runs in the family as Harmon’s older brother, De’Vion, who finished his freshman year at Oklahoma, was one of the best point guards in the nation to come out of the Class of 2019.
