LSU lands second commitment in two weeks from 9-time UIL state champ Aledo Bearcats

Four-star Aledo 2021 wide receiver JoJo Earle announced his commitment to LSU via Twitter on Thursday.

Earle has 27 offers, which include Alabama, Oklahoma, Georgia, Texas Tech, USC and TCU. The Horned Frogs recruited Earle heavily and thought they were going land the 5-10 play maker.

LSU won the national championship in January over Clemson, 42-25.

The Tigers also landed Earle’s teammate, 2022 defensive back BJ Allen on April 9. Allen is a four-star prospect and is ranked as the No. 2 safety in the nation among the 2022 class according to 247Sports.

Aledo won its UIL 11-man state record ninth state championship in December, 45-42 over Fort Bend Marshall.

Earle made four catches for 107 yards and one touchdown. He added 10 carries and 43 yards. On the season, Earle had 84 catches, 1,600 yards and 15 TDs. He also had 47 rushes for 429 yards and 11 TDs.

Earle also saw time on defense. He made the game-winning deflection vs. Ennis in the state quarterfinals.

He’s ranked as the No. 13 WR in the nation for 2021 and the 10th best player in the state, per 247Sports. He also ranked 72nd overall, nationally.

Earle had 1,100 yards receiving and 11 TDs during his sophomore season.

According to Tony Eierdam of The Community News, Earle will become Aledo’s starting quarterback for the 2020 season, replacing Jake Bishop who is set to graduate. He ran part the Wildcat formation during the 2019 season.
