Aledo safety, who’s ranked No. 2 in the country, commits to national champion LSU
Aledo 2022 safety Bryan Allen Jr. announced his commitment to LSU via Twitter on Thursday.
Allen is the fourth player from his class to commit to the Tigers, who beat Clemson in January to win the national championship.
Allen holds 17 offers, which also includes TCU, Texas, A&M, Oklahoma, Penn State, Florida and Baylor.
The Bearcats won their UIL record ninth state title during the Class 5A Division 2 championship vs. Fort Bend Marshall in December. Allen made six tackles.
On the season, Allen made a team-high 122 tackles, 80 solo, three interceptions, three forced fumbles and three fumble recoveries. He was named district defensive newcomer of the year.
In the state semifinal, Allen recorded 13 tackles against Lubbock-Cooper.
Allen is ranked as the No. 2 safety in the class of 2022 according to 247Sports behind Florida’s Kamari Wilson. He’s ranked as the No. 5 overall prospect in Texas, and top-ranked safety. Southlake Carroll QB Quinn Ewers, who recently picked up an offer from LSU, is the top-ranked player in the state for 2022.
Nationally, Allen is No. 52 overall.
