Denton Guyer star running back, Davey O’Brien award winner commits to UT-San Antonio
Denton Guyer running back Kaedric Cobbs announced his commitment to UT-San Antonio on Saturday.
He holds 13 offers and is a 3-star recruit according to 247Sports. National Signing Day is Wednesday.
Last season, Cobbs rushed 304 times for 2,641 yards (leading Dallas-Fort Worth in 6A) and scored 42 touchdowns, helping the Wildcats to a 14-2 record and trip to the Class 6A Division II state title game in December. He rushed for over 6,700 yards and 102 touchdowns in his high school career.
He was voted to the Class 6A all-state first team and District 5-6A Co-Offensive MVP.
Cobbs was awarded with the Davey O’Brien High School Scholarship on Jan. 21.
He will be honored Feb. 17, at the 43rd Annual Davey O’Brien Awards Dinner alongside Davey O’Brien National Quarterback Award winner Joe Burrow of LSU, Legends Award recipient Steve Bartkowski, and the National Football Foundation, the winner of the Charles Ringler Founder’s Award.
Cobbs ranks first out of 631 students with a 5.0 GPA.
