Good news Texas Longhorn fans regarding Duncanville star QB Ja’Quinden Jackson

According to the Dallas Morning News on Saturday, Duncanville star quarterback Ja’Quinden Jackson only has a partially torn ACL. His initial diagnosis was a fully torn ACL, which would have affected his playing time next fall at the University of Texas.

He suffered the injury in the semifinals against Rockwall on Dec. 14.

During the second quarter, Jackson ran a QB keeper and was knocked to the ground. He remained there for several minutes as the training staff tended to his injured left knee.

He had to be assisted off the field and finished the game on the sidelines with crutches.

Jackson missed Saturday’s 6A D1 state title game against Galena Park North Shore. Duncanville lost 31-17 as freshman Chris Parson made his first career start. Jackson dressed in full uniform and threw passes during warmups.

Jackson, who signed his national letter of intent with the UT during the early signing period, ends his senior season with over 2,700 yards total offense and 37 TDs. He had over 3,000 yards and 38 TDs as a junior.

The 4-star prospect is ranked as the No. 3 Athlete in the nation and No. 13 overall player in the state, according to 247Sports.

Jackson had 26 offers when he committed to Texas in June.
