Northwest cruises past Eastern Hills behind QB’s 6 TD passes
Quarterback Austin Ahmad threw for six touchdowns in only 11 completions Friday evening as Justin Northwest defeated Fort Worth Eastern Hills 59-0.
Ahmad threw for over 300 yards and connected on touchdowns to four receivers including two each to DeVeantae Stegall and Quentin Lee.
The Northwest offense scored three times in the game’s first five minutes and after a Blake Kearcher 27-yard field goal and Ahmad’s third first-quarter touchdown pass to Zavion Taylor, they led 31-0 going into the second quarter.
The second quarter saw Stegall catch both his touchdown scores, of 66 and 42 yards, and Northwest took a 45-0 lead into halftime.
Game was over when: Justin Northwest scored three times in the opening quarter’s first four minutes on touchdown throws from Ahmad of 61 and 16 yards.
Play of the game: Ben Nance recovered an errant snap over the punter late in the third quarter for a fumble recovery and touchdown for the Northwest defense.
Offensive player of the game: Austin Ahmad threw for six scores and over 300 yards, going to four receivers on a mere 11 completions.
Special teams player of the game: Northwest kicker Blake Kearcher connected on seven extra points and a first quarter 27-yard field goal.
Unsung hero of the game: The Northwest defense allowed five total first downs and under 100 yards of total offense.
