Quarterback: Jackson Cook, Joshua
What he did: Cook threw for 30 of 53 for a season-high 359 yards and 3 TDs vs. Cleburne. He recorded the fourth-highest passing total in Dallas-Fort Worth for Week 5. Joshua was one of 20 DFW teams to gain 500 or more yards (502).
Cook entered the night with 636 yards passing and 6 TDs this season.
Running back: D’Aunte Prevost, Arlington Bowie
What he did: The 2020 back rushed for 225 yards and 3 TDs as Bowie defeated North Crowley 42-36.
Prevost scored from 1, 30 and 74 yards, and added a 36-yard touchdown catch.
What he said: “Coming back from injury had me hungry and I was glad to be back on the field. I went out and played my heart out for my teammates and coaches, and I couldn’t do it without them. I had to step up and it means a lot to win player of the week.”
Wide receiver: Damon Smith, Keller
What he did: Smith caught 7 passes for a game-high 174 yards and 3 TDs vs. Southlake Carroll. Smith and quarterback Sloan Henry hooked up for scores of 11, 28 and 64 yards.
He now leads the Indians through four games with 22 catches, 472 yards and 6 TDs.
Defense: Ty DeArman, Arlington Bowie
What he did: The 3-star Arizona State commit was all over the field against North Crowley, finishing with a school-record 28 tackles (15 solo). He also had a pass deflection and caused one fumble as the Volunteers won 42-36.
Bowie improved to 3-1 overall and 1-0 in District 4-6A.
