Mansfield Lake Ridge and Mansfield Timberview have taken on teams from as far away as Tulsa, Oklahoma and Waco so far this season.

Jackson scored on runs of 19 and 13 yards to give Lake Ridge (1-1) a 14-8 lead at the half, but Timberview (1-2) battled back.
A 39-yard field goal by Brady Obholz and a five-yard scoring run by quarterback Jordan Davis gave Timberview a 19-14 lead with 5:30 left in the third quarter.
Lake Ridge quarterback Chandler Rogers took over from there with a 62-yard scoring pass to Tameron Derrough and a 49-yard sprint up the middle for a TD that gave the Eagles a 29-19 lead with 6:08 left in the game. The teams traded scores from that point.
Game was over when: Lake Ridge’s Michael Harrison recovered a Timberview onside kick with 47 seconds left in the game. The Wolves executed the kick perfectly, and had a chance to recover it, but the ball went through the arms of a Timberview player and in to the arms of Harrison.
Play of the game: Lake Ridge linebacker Andrew Awe’s fumble recovery at the Eagles half yard line with 9:05 left in the second quarter. The play led to a 99 yard, 11-play scoring drive for the Eagles giving them the lead at the half.
Offensive player of the game: Jackson added an 11-yard TD run late in the fourth quarter and rushed for 97 yards on 15 carries, but Lake Ridge quarterback Chandler Rogers was the star. The Eagles scored on the ensuing possession to take a 29-19 lead. Jalen Kimber and Obholz had interceptions for Timberview. The latter in the end zone to thwart a Lake Ridge scoring opportunity
Unsung hero of the game: The Timberview offense picked up 27 first downs and outgained Lake Ridge 540 yards to 469, but two fumbles deep in Lake Ridge territory doomed the Wolves. Besides Davis’ night, Montaye Dawson had 71 yards rushing and Jashawn Keno had 75 yards receiving for Timberview. Keno made a stellar catch for a 49-yard touchdown from Davis to open the scoring.
