Sophomore running back DJ Kirven rushed for four touchdowns, Jaden Knowles scored on a 47-yard dash and the Kennedale Wildcats ran wild over Wilmer-Hutchins for a 63-0 blowout victory in a Class 4A Division I bi-district game at Longhorn Stadium in Cedar Hill.
Kirven also caught two touchdown passes, helping Kennedale advance the area round against Terrell.
Key players: Knowles and Kirven gained 151 and 142 yards respectively, and combined for seven of the Wildcats’ nine touchdowns. Sophomore quarterback Evan Jowers threw for 44 yards and two touchdowns. David Roper caught one pass for 11 yards. Jakahri Stafford picked off a pass in the win. Wilmer-Hutchins sophomore quarterback Keondre McKnight ran for 21 and passed for 46 yards. Wide receiver Trevon Banks caught three passes for 54 yards.
Key stat: Kennedale rushed for 276 yards in the first half and only allowed 100 yards for the game.
