Justin Northwest rallies to stun Denton
Leo Saldana caught a 10-yard touchdown pass from quartebrack Prince Mavula with 16 seconds remaining, capping off Justin Northwest’s fourth-quarter comeback to defeat Denton 31-29 in 5A Division I Region I action.
Justin Northwest faced a 13-point deficit heading into the fourth and trailed 23-7 after the first quarter. They will play Colleyville Heritage next in the area round.
Key Players: Northwest running back Syrus Moore rushed 28 times for 218 yards and two touchdowns. Denton defensive back Chris Miller returned an interception 58 yards for a touchdown and added 73 yards on offense.
