Keller Central holds off Haltom in season finale
A lackluster first half that saw both teams sputter on offense and punt the ball back and forth turned into a scoring fest in the second half as Keller Central held off the upset-minded Buffaloes in a 34-28 regular-season finale at Birdville FA/AC.
Key players: Central QB Reese Robertson ran for 99 yards, including a 20-yard TD run. He also threw a TD to WR Grant Meek. Haltom running back JQ Reed rushed 30 times for 193 yards and scored three of the Buffalos’ four TDs. Haltom QB Cole Hays passed for 105 yards.
Key stat: Central opened the scoring on a 46-yard punt return by Isaiah Ganaway. Evans’ long kickoff return kept the Buffalos within striking distance late in the game.
