Big plays late send Trimble Tech past Western Hills

Vince Burton’s 34-yard pass to Gabriel Woodard with five minutes left to play, and Cordell Palmer’s fourth-down pass deflection, carried Fort Worth Trimble Tech past Fort Worth Western Hills 45-43 at Clark Stadium on Thursday. Burton completed 25 of 36 passes for 340 yards and five touchdowns, and he added a rushing score. He found four different players for TD passes.

Key players: Trimble Tech’s Jaylon McLean had 10 receptions for 93 yards and two touchdowns. Johnathan Alexander had 141 yards and a touchdown on seven receptions. Western Hills was led by the running back tandem of Eric Hall (191 yards, two touchdowns) and Tyler Morgan (100 yards, TD).

Key stat: Tech twice rallied from double-digit deficits.
