FW South Hills improves to 10-0, wins first district title
Fort Worth South Hills capped an undefeated regular season, set a school record for wins (10) and won its first-ever district title by defeating playoff-bound Fort Worth Wyatt 34-7 in a District 7-5A game Thursday at Farrington Field. The Scorpions meet Friday’s Colleyville Heritage-Richland loser in the Class 5A Division I bi-district playoffs. Wyatt gets Dunbar in Division II bi-district play if Dunbar beats Poly on Friday.
Key players: Quarterback Trey Jones rushed for 193 yards and two touchdowns. Jones also threw a 29-yard scoring pass to Tylan Wallace. Linebacker Sergio Albarran also recovered a high snap by Wyatt in the end zone for a TD.
Key stat: Wyatt was limited to three first downs through three quarters, and trailed 34-0.
