Covenant pounces on Grace Prep

With just over three minutes elapsed, Grace Prep scored a first quarter touchdown to take an initial lead. Colleyville Covenant quickly answered and did not look back, scoring touchdowns on five of seven first-half drives behind a balanced offensive attack. That first-half lead proved to be insurmountable as Grace Prep fell to Covenant 48-7 in a TAPPS Division III District 2 game at Maverick Stadium.

Key Players: Covenant quarterback Josh Stith passed for 339 yards and five TDs. Covenant tailback Alan Maldonado rushed 18 times for 155 yards and two TDs, while teammate Niven Raj caught five passes for 170 yards and 4 TDs.

Key Stat: Covenant’s offense finished with 590 yards.
