Timberview defense excels against Waxahachie
Mansfield Timberview’s pass rush forced six quarterback sacks in a 37-20 victory over Waxahachie in a District 10-5A game Friday at Mansfield’s R.L. Anderson Stadium. Waxahachie, state-ranked two weeks ago, has lost two straight.
Key players: Timberview Wolves freshman running back Stacy Sneed gained 113 yards on 13 carries with one touchdown, and teammate Jalen Knox scored on 5- and 7-yard touchdown runs. Sneed scored his touchdown on a 14-yard run to give his team a 23-20 lead in the third quarter.
Key stat: Timberview’s Tre Davis returned a blocked extra-point attempt 89 yards for two points, and Wolves offensive lineman Dakoda Newman threw a 46-yard pass to quarterback Zeke Kuyawa to give Timberview a 15-13 lead.
