Hebron took firm control of the second place in District 5-6A Friday with a 37-21 defeat of Euless Trinity at Pennington Field. It marked the first time Trinity has lost at least three regular season games since 2004.
Key players: Trinity Trojans rushing combo of Courage Keihn and Greg Garner accounted for 375 rushing yards and three scores in the loss. Hebron quarterback Clayton Tune threw for three touchdowns and ran for two more, accounting for 268 yards of total offense. Hawk running back Evan Powell had 17 carries for 74 yards, and teammate Jaren Mitchell caught eight passes for 129 yards and two touchdowns.
Key stat: Trinity’s offense outgained Hebron, 450 yards to 356, but the Trojans turned the ball over four times.
