Burleson handles Joshua to stay perfect in District 9-5A

Jaylen Johnson racked up 191 yards and three touchdowns on eight receptions Friday as he lifted Burleson past Joshua 45-3 in a District 9-5A game at Owl Stadium.

Key players: Quarterback Hayden Whitten led Burleson with 258 yards and four touchdowns on 12-of-19 passing. Backup quarterback Trysten DeLeon had 50 yards passing and 45 yards rushing with two touchdowns.

Key stat: Joshua was limited to 79 yards of offense. The teams combined for 23 penalties. Burleson has won four straight games in the series.
