Hebron hands Hurst L.D. Bell second 5-6A loss
Hurst L.D. Bell running back Ivan Traylor had 145 yards and his team’s only touchdown as the Blue Raiders suffered a second consecutive District 5-6A defeat, 21-7, Friday against Hebron at Pennington Field.
Key players: Hebron RB Derian Vaughn rushed for 170 yards on 19 carries and a touchdown; Hawks DE Seth Shirey had two sacks and a forced fumble, and Hawks QB Clayton Tune threw a TD pass to TE Paul Akere. In addition to Traylor, DB Derek Thomas had an interception for Bell.
Key play: With the Bell offense driving, Hebron’s Shirey forced a fumble that was picked up and returned for a touchdown by Nick Thibedeaux, setting off a run of 21 consecutive Hebron points in the second quarter.
