Carroll senior named 6A Built Ford Tough Player of the Week
Southlake Carroll’s Robert Barnes was named Built Ford Tough Texas High School Football Player of the Week for Week 2.
Barnes, a senior, is a safety by trait, but in the Dragons’ 37-14 win over Arlington Martin, the Oklahoma commit played his first game at wide receiver since fifth grade pee-wee.
Barnes caught six passes for 152 yards on offense and forced a fumble on defense.
In Week 1, Cleburne quarterback Tre’Von Bradley was named the 5A Player of the Week after accounting for 431 yards rushing and seven TDs, and 151 yards passing and two TDs against Stephenville.
Bradley was later voted dfwVarsity Player of the Week. Haltom quarterback Cole Hays was voted the winner for Week 2.
