After helping Arlington Martin to historic season, 2021 guard commits to LA Tech

Arlington Martin rising senior guard Autumn Smith announced her commitment to Louisiana Tech on Thursday.

“Through all of the hard work and dedication I’ve put into the game, I’ve had an amazing journey to get where I am. I would like to thank the people who pushed me to excel and continually motivated me as a player. I appreciate everyone who has stayed in my corner throughout this whole journey,” Smith said in a tweet.

The Warriors are coming off their best season in program history. They went 35-5, their most wins in a season, captured an undefeated district title and made the trip to the regional tournament for the first time.

Smith was selected to the District 4-6A first team after averaging 12 points, 4.0 rebounds, 3.0 steals and 2.5 assists per game. She was named to the Star-Telegram all-area team.

Martin will showcase one of the state’s best back-courts next season, which includes Smith and rising senior Mariah Roberts, who was district MVP. She committed to TCU in early July.
