Introducing the Star-Telegram’s 2025-26 Fort Worth-area Girls High School Basketball Coach of the Year:

Decatur’s Drew Coffman

Decatur capped consecutive championship seasons with a thrilling 58-54 overtime victory against Waco La Vega in the Class 4A Division I title game. The Eagles (37-4, 14-0 District 7-4A) were the only Fort Worth-area program to make a state final and one of two to make the state tournament; the other was Brock in Class 4A Division II.

Under Coffman, Decatur will aim for a championship three-peat next season and continue area leading success in Class 4A. Although Star-Telegram Offensive Player of the Year Bralyn Peck will graduate, the Eagles will return guard Style Brazile, an All-Area First Team selection, and forward Sayler Peck, a member of the All-Area Third Team.
