Introducing the Star-Telegram’s 2025-26 Fort Worth-area Boys High School Basketball Offensive Player of the Year:

Birdville senior Sawyer Dotson

Dotson ended a stellar career at Birdville averaging 20 points and 8 rebounds, leading the Hawks to the Class 5A Division I state semifinals. He was named MVP of the Whataburger Tournament and earned a spot on the Lions Club All-Tournament Team.

Dotson, a Lipscomb pledge, was named to the TABC’s Class 5A All-State and All-Region teams and also earned District 6-5A Offensive Player of the Year honors. He has a 6-foot-7, 200-pound frame. As one of the best pure shooter and scorer in the area, Dotson led the Hawks to a 31-6 record and back-to-back state tournament appearances.
