When Fort Worth All Saints won the TAPPS Division II state championship in 2024, it was hard for head coach Aaron Beck to enjoy the season.

He was always focused on the next play, the next game and the next opponent. But in 2025, Beck said he made a point to enjoy the process and the little things that come with coaching high school football.

“Trying to slow it down,” Beck said. “Living in the day a little bit more. And we’ve had such a wonderful season to this point. ... You spend a lot of time with the kids.”

Beck has a lot to savor with the 2025 All Saints Football team. On Friday, the Saints won their 23rd consecutive game and captured a share of the TAPPS District I Division I championship in a 41-21 victory over Fort Worth Christian at Fort Worth Christian High School.

The Saints outmatched the Cardinals, one of the better TAPPS squads in the Fort Worth area, although it wasn’t a perfect performance. Beck credited Fort Worth Christian for being a great program with effective coaching.

“We had some guys make some key plays,” Beck said. “But man, we were just sloppy. But we still won, and I’m going to celebrate that. We are district champs a second year in a row. ... I’m going to be happy with it.”

Winning 23 straight games in Texas high school football is no small feat. Yet Fort Worth All Saints has made it look effortless at times. Beck said the main strength of the squad is continuity with the players and coaching staff.

“We have really strong leadership,” Beck said. “Not just with our seniors, but within the position groups. ... We’ve got some depth on the defensive line that, at this level, is not normal. That’s hard for people to deal with.”

The Cardinal defensive line was tough to deal with, too. Led by Kansas State pledge Tucker Ashford, the unit contained the Saints rushing attack. Jourden Billings and Bourke Toler helped navigate the issue, as the duo combined for 159 yards.

“They gave us fits,” Beck said. “I’m so proud of the way our O-line responded. But man, that Ashford kid, .... he is just a dude.”

Leading the way is quarterback Gavin Beard, a Georgetown pledge, who passed for 287 yards and four touchdowns with two interceptions against Fort Worth Christian.

“Gavin [Beard] is so much fun to watch,” Beck said. “And he is one of those kids that makes plays he doesn’t even know he is making. He is inherently athletic. It scares me a little bit when he runs, but the velocity of his football is really strong.”

Wide receiver Hudson Reasor, a Colgate pledge, was Beard’s leading target with 121 yards and a TD on five receptions. Beck called him a safety net for Beard — the duo has a knack for improvisation and connecting when Beard is extending plays with his legs.

Despite competing at the Division II level, the Saints consistently prove they belong among the best in TAPPS, and statement wins over powerhouses like Parish Episcopal and Prestonwood Christian back up that claim.

There is still a lot of football to be played and a lot of mistakes to clean up — but All Saints is on a championship trajectory, if it continues building momentum.

“Our scheme is right,” Beck said. “Now, we’ll start to shrink our playbook a bit. We’ve got everything in that we need, and we need to perfect and focus on our identity. ... Getting our playmakers the ball and not trying to do too much.”

If the Saints finish with a perfect record, not only will they win back-to-back state championships, but they’ll win complete consecutive perfect seasons. Right now, the program is just focused on getting championship ready.

Up next, the Saints will aim to win the district title outright in a home game against Southwest Christian on Friday, Nov. 7.
