One of the top quarterbacks in the Fort Worth area is taking the next step in his athletic career.

Fort Worth All Saints senior Gavin Beard announced his commitment to Georgetown on Friday.

Beard, a 5-foot-10, 205-pound transfer from Aledo, passed for 2,629 yards and 36 touchdowns with the Bearcats as a junior. Before he was at Aledo, he played at All Saints. Now, he is back with teammates he is familiar with.

All Saints, as the top-ranked TAPPS Division II squad by Dave Campbell’s Texas Football, is vying for consecutive state championships.

Beard is the Star-Telegram’s No. 3 QB to watch and the No. 10 overall player to watch entering the 2025 season. In 2024, he earned honorable mention on the Star-Telegram All-Area team.

Beard announced his Georgetown offer Aug. 3 and made his pledge to the program 12 days later.
