Fort Worth Boswell’s Camille Williams named 2024-25 Girls’ Athlete of the Year
Boswell girls’ basketball’s Camille Williams has been named the 2024-25 Star-Telegram Girls’ High School Athlete of the Year, an honor reserved for the best of the best across all sports in the Fort Worth-area.
Williams, a Miami basketball signee, led the Pioneers to a UIL Class 6A Division II state championship. It was Eagle Mountain-Saginaw ISD’s first girls’ basketball state championship and the City of Fort Worth’s first in 18 years.
Williams was the longtime leader of the program and thrived, earning Star-Telegram Basketball Player of the Year awards in consecutive seasons. As a senior, she averaged 16.2 points, 8 rebounds, 4.3 assists and 3 steals en route to district MVP, all-region and all-state honors.
She galvanized a youthful yet talented bunch, leading by example with veteran experience. Williams led the Pioneers to wins over No. 9 Fort Bend Hightower, No. 4 Lancaster, No. 13 Frenship, No. 6 Braswell and more on the way to a state title.
During the season, she was Boswell’s standout player within an incredibly talented roster. Williams recorded team highs in points, rebounds, assists and steals while maintaining a team high 2.34 assist-to-turnover ratio.
Williams was also voted the 2024-25 Readers’ Choice Girls Athlete of the Year — that award reflects the support she received from the community as a result of her accomplishments. She ended her career at Boswell as a three-time district MVP with 2,747 points, 1,029 rebounds, 574 steals and 537 assists.
Over time, Williams’ recruiting profile skyrocketed. She was ranked by ESPN as the No. 36 recruit in the class of 2025. She is the No. 1 ranked recruit in the Fort Worth-area and the No. 4 overall recruit in Texas.
