Aledo four-star wide receiver Kaydon Finley announces commitment to Notre Dame

Aledo four-star wide receiver Kaydon Finley, the No. 14 receiver in the nation and No. 15 overall recruit in Texas per 247Sports composite rankings, announced his commitment to Notre Dame on Instagram Live. He also considered Texas, Texas A&M, Arizona State and more.

Finley, in 2024, made the Star-Telegram All-Area First Team, tallying 1,432 yards and 21 touchdowns en route to MaxPreps Junior All-American honors.

Finley, who has a 6-foot, 200-pound frame and a 4.5-second 40-yard dash, helped lead the Bearcats to a state title in 2023. He is the No. 15 player in Texas and the No. 14 receiver in the class of 2026, according to 247Sports composite rankings.

When Finley announces his commitment to Fighting Irish football, the backdrop behind him fell, revealing a wall full of Notre Dame memorabilia. Finley, along with Southlake Carroll standout and Ohio State commit Brock Boyd, will be a top returning skill player in the Fort Worth-area.

Kaydon Finley’s father, Jermichael Finley, attended the University of Texas and had a six-year career in the NFL, which included a Super Bowl win with the Green Bay Packers. The Longhorns were Finley’s second choice but he ultimately chose Notre Dame, the 2025 College Football Playoff National Championship runner-up.

With the Aledo standout’s pledge, Notre Dame has 14 commitments from players in the class of 2026 with four or more stars. They have the No. 3 class in the nation, according to 247Sports.
