North Crowley five-star lineman John Turntine III commits to Texas Longhorns
North Crowley four-star offensive lineman John Turntine III, the No. 3 class of 2026 recruit in Texas according to 247Sports composite rankings, committed to Texas on Instagram live.
Turntine, who also considered Stanford, Texas A&M and Michigan, sprayed burnt orange paint in the air as spectators erupted in cheers. He is the seventh player in the class of 2026 with four or more stars to commit to the Longhorns.
For the second year in a row, a North Crowley standout is headed to Texas. Linebacker Jonathan Cunningham, a three-star recruit and Star-Telegram All-Area First Team honoree, has enrolled with the Longhorns.
Turntine, a key member of North Crowley’s dominant offensive line known as “The Wall,” helped lead the Panthers to the Class 6A Division I state championship. The 6-foot-4, 285-pound lineman earned MaxPreps Junior All-American and Star-Telegram First Team honors for his performance.
His father, John Turntine Jr., attended Everman High School and played for TCU from 1998 to 2002.
