Introducing the 2024 Star-Telegram High School Volleyball Player of the Year: Colleyville Heritage’s Suli Davis.

Davis, a BYU signee, was a force as a senior for the Panthers, tallying 800 kills, 597 digs, 59 blocks and 44 aces. She finished an illustrious career that saw her tally 2,618 kills and over 1,500 digs; Davis helped lead Colleyville Heritage to a state title as a sophomore.

The stellar senior season placed her on the Max Preps All-American First Team and the American Volleyball Coaches Association First Team, both national honors. Davis recently represented Grapevine-Colleyville ISD in the Under Armour All-American Game in Orlando, Florida, earning MVP honors while competing with and against the best in the nation.

Davis, with 800 kills, finished in the top 10 in Texas while also being a well-rounded, complete player. She was named to the National Player of the Year watchlist and was also named the Dallas Morning News’ 2024 Hitter of the Year.

She tallied 35 kills against Highland Park, a team that went 32-10 and holds a win over No. 1 nationally ranked 6A powerhouse Byron Nelson. Davis was named District 6-5A Co-MVP before leading the Panthers to a regional final.

Davis had 10 or more kills in 41 of 42 matches, averaging 6.6 kills per set and 19 per match. She had a 49.3 kill percentage and a .360 hitting percentage.

Davis is from Hau’ula, Hawaii, and currently lives in Texas. She has a 6-foot-2 frame and is a member of the U19 USA Volleyball National Team. She will join a BYU squad that went 19-10 and 12-6 in conference in 2024 en route to a first-round NCAA Tournament loss.

Honorable mention: Kylie Kleckner, Junior OH, Byron Nelson - 596 kills, .369%, 306 digs, 56 blocks and 51 aces. Kleckner, a Washington commit, was the 6A Division I State Championship MVP and was named a First Team Max Preps All-American. Kleckner is the 2024 Max Preps Junior of the Year.

Honorable mention: Sophee Peterson, Sophomore S, Byron Nelson - 1,480 assists, 199 kills, 271 digs, 75 blocks and 48 aces. Peterson ran an elite Byron Nelson offense as an underclassman on the way to First Team Max Preps All-American honors and a state championship win. She is the 2024 Max Preps Sophomore of the Year and was named the District 4-6A MVP.
