The playoff race in the Fort Worth-area is starting to heat up.

Some teams are taking the next step toward a potential postseason run while others are fighting to keep their seasons alive.

Southlake Carroll and Aledo stay at the top of Class 6A and Class 5A, respectively. Both squads have been the No. 1 ranked team since the beginning of the season.

Euless Trinity and Arlington Martin took jumps in Class 6A, partially due to losses from Mansfield and Keller. Keller Timber Creek entered the rankings with a win over Haslet Eaton.

Colleyville Heritage and Justin Northwest moved up in the Class 5A rankings after Burleson Centennial suffered its second consecutive loss.
