Week 8 of Texas high school football was a wild one, and playoff races are starting to take shape in the Fort Worth-area.

There were some spectacular performances from local players. Which one should be named the player of the week? You tell us.

12 schools are represented in this week’s player of the week pol: Hurst L.D. Bell, Crowley, North Crowley, Euless Trinity, Keller Fossil Ridge, Keller Timber Creek, Aledo, Justin Northwest, Azle, Richland, Colleyville Heritage and Argyle.

The athlete that receives the most votes will be named the Fort Worth-area week seven player of the week.

Anyone can be nominated. If a performance from the upcoming week stands out, you can nominate a player by sending High School Sports Editor Charles Baggarly (cbaggarly@star-telegram.com) an email with the subject line “WEEK NINE NOMINATION.”

Without further ado, here are the nominees. Voting will end Wednesday at 11:59 p.m. CT.
