Fort Worth Christian senior named Texas statewide player of the week after upset win

Fort Worth Christian senior Luke Anderson was named Private Schools Built Ford Tough Texas High School Football Player of the Week following the Cardinals’ Week 6 win over Dallas Christian.

Anderson helped the Cards to a 5-0 record after rushing for 239 yards and three touchdowns while also making nine tackles on the defensive side.

It was the first time FWC started a season 5-0 since 2015.

The win vaulted the Cards to No. 1 in the Star-Telegram private school area rankings.

Through the first five games, Anderson was up to 420 yards rushing and eight touchdowns, averaging nearly 12 yards per carry. He also has 55 tackles, 37 solo tackles, 3 TFL and 1 sack.
