Here are 10 Fort Worth-area high school football players to watch in Week 7
Week 7 of the Texas high school football season starts Thursday and expect more great performances from Fort Worth-area football players.
Keep an eye out for these 10 players this week:
Enow Etta, Sr., DE, Colleyville Covenant: The 4-star Michigan commit was his usual force to help the Cougars pick up their first win of the season. Etta had 13 tackles, three sacks, three TFL and a 57-yard fumble recovery for a touchdown to beat McKinney Christian. He has 16 tackles for loss and nine sacks this season.
Landry Limas, Sr., Temple Christian: The Eagles are 5-0 and have allowed just 69 points and Limas is a big reason why. More than half of Limas total tackles have been for a loss (30, 15.5) and he leads the area with 10 1/2 sacks. Limas and the Eagles look to go to 6-0 when they play Waco Reicher on Friday night.
Parker Polk, Sr., RB, Grapevine: Polk will keep it rolling this week against FW Poly after coming off a career night in Week 7. Polk rushed for over 200 yards for the first time and scored three touchdowns as Grapevine rolled past Colleyville Heritage in the red rail game, 44-26.
Michael Turner, Soph., RB, Richland: The Royals kept their undefeated record in tack after beating Dallas White and Turner played a huge part going for 29 carries, 245 yards and two touchdowns. Turner averaged 8.4 yards per carry and now has 670 yards this season while nearly averaging 10 yards per attempt.
Luke Anderson, Sr., RB, Fort Worth Christian: The Cardinals are coming off their best win of the season after taking down No. 2 Dallas Christian in Week 6. The Cards are 5-0 and get another big test with Liberty Christian this week. Anderson rushed for 239 yards and three TDs against DC, but also made nine tackles on defense.
Hauss Hejny, Jr., QB, Aledo: Hejny had his best game of the season to help Aledo stay unbeaten in district after its Week 6 win over The Colony. Hejny accounted for over 300 yards and a pair of scores. He threw for 244 yards, but the stat that’s most impressive, he only went 7 of 10 and averaged a whopping 35 yards per completion.
Jacob Vaughan, Sr., QB, Liberty Christian: Vaughan is starting to become a household name. The Fort Worth-area’s No. 1 quarterback is now up to 1,872 yards and 20 TDs following a 38-0 win over Frisco Legacy Christian. The Warriors are 5-1 and Vaughan is throwing 312 yards per game.
Murry Moore, Sr., RB, Dunbar: Moore has quickly become one of the leading rushers in the state and with 1,293 yards in just five games, it’s easy to see why. Moore went for 346 yards and a TD in Dunbar’s Week 6 win over Western Hills. He upped his total to 13 scores this season and enters the week averaging a eye popping 258 yards per game.
Kevin Dodard, Jr., QB, Lake Country: Dodard had a monster game last week against West Oso totaling 307 yards and seven touchdowns with six through the air. He also played on D where he made nine tackles, had an interception and a forced fumble to help the Eagles stay undefeated.
Bryce Morton, Sr., QB, Richland: Morton has been on a roll this season for the 5-0 Royals. After 262 yards and three TDs against White in Week 6, Morton is up to 1,299 yards passing and 19 TDs. His 19 touchdown tosses are second in the Fort Worth-area behind Vaughan. In his last two games, Morton is 28 of 42 for 559 yards and nine touchdowns.
